Teaching

Lucy is an experienced and enthusiastic harp tutor who offers a thoughtful, personalised approach to teaching — blending technical skill with creativity, confidence, and joy.

She currently teaches at the Royal Northern College of Music (Junior Department, PGCE, and Young Harps Programme), Huddersfield University, Repton School, and for the Transpennine Branch of the Clarsach Society, where she runs regular workshops and an annual online festival.

Her students range from complete beginners to aspiring professionals and have gone on to win national and international competitions, and secure places in prestigious youth ensembles and conservatoires.

Lucy also runs the Derbyshire Harp Ensemble, offering young harpists the chance to explore ensemble repertoire and perform at local festivals and concert series.

Private lessons are available in-person at Lucy’s harp studio in Little Eaton, Derbyshire, or online. One-off technique lessons and audition preparation sessions are also available.
