I’m an enthusiastic and experienced teacher and a firm believer that whatever your standard, age or motivation, learning the harp should be a fun and rewarding experience. Lessons are tailored to suit the individual needs of each pupil, whether that be to learn as an enjoyable hobby or to prepare for an exam or music college audition.
My teaching experience is wide ranging. I’m currently a harp tutor for the Junior RNCM department, Uppingham School, Foremarke Hall and the Transpennine branch of the Clarsach Society where I run monthly ensemble sessions. I’ve been a guest tutor for Yorkshire Young Sinfonia, RNCM Young Harps’ Scheme and Cottingham Harp Course. I also have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and spent two years working at a school in North London as part of the Teach First Leadership Development Programme where I helped to establish an orchestra and secured positions and funding for five pupils in the National Orchestra for All, rehearsing with them in preparation for performances at Alexandra Palace and Leeds Arena.
Private lessons are currently available in Manchester, Derby and Uppingham.
